A KNIT BLAZER!? Adrianna from Hey June Handmade can do no wrong! I had the honor of testing this pattern last fall, and this pattern definitely delivered.

PATTERN

I had never made a blazer before this, so I was excited about this pattern! I’ve always wanted a casual blazer to wear with jeans. This pattern has a lot of versatility for casual or dressed up! I chose view A, which is a classic blazer style, but view B has a more fluid style with an angled lapel laying open.

The details and instructions in this pattern are top-notch! I can’t say enough about how enjoyable this pattern was to test! I love how all the pieces come together so beautifully. Adrianna has a way of explaining complicated instructions so that I don’t have to read them a million times!

FABRIC

I used this teal knit ponte from Joann Fabric from my stash. It has a hefty weight, which was perfect for this blazer. It resisted pressing A LOT, so the clapper came in handy!

SIZE & ADJUSTMENTS

I cut a straight size 8. I probably should’ve done a slight full bust adjustment because I see some drag lines when the blazer is closed, but the sizing is spot on.

I shortened the length by 2.5″ even though I am 5’10”, because I wanted a cropped, sporty look.

I was lazy and didn’t want to hand stitch the hem and cuffs, so I used Heat & Bond stay tape to finish the hem & sleeve cuffs for a seamless look. I also used it under the lapel to keep it pressed flat.

Bias finished seams!
